Beatriz Sarmiento Schachter is of-counsel to the firm. In addition to her work at the firm, Beatriz primarily devotes her time to representing clients through the Cuban American Bar Association Pro Bono program, which provides legal services to children, individuals, and families in a wide range of matters. Through the CABA program, Beatriz regularly appears in court representing clients in family law and custody disputes, as well as also handling immigration and landlord-tenant matters.
Beatriz received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Florida, graduating in three years with honors and serving as President of the Cuban-American Student Association. She then attended Georgetown University Law Center, where she spent her third year as a member of Law Students in Court defending indigent clients in landlord-tenant matters. Admitted to practice in both Florida and New York, Beatriz has worked at well-respected law firms in both Miami and Manhattan, and worked for a year as a seventh grade civics teacher at a Miami-Dade public school. She is also a fluent Spanish speaker
