Andres Chinchilla

Andres Chinchilla is an accomplished litigator and trial attorney. Leveraging his extensive federal litigation experience and trial-ready approach, he provides clients with strategic, effective guidance in high-stakes criminal and civil matters.

Before joining the firm, Andres served for more than three years as a federal prosecutor. He began his career as a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice Tax Division’s Criminal Enforcement Section, which he joined through the Attorney General Honors Program. In that role, he investigated and prosecuted complex tax matters nationwide, including tax evasion, fraud, employment tax crimes, and associated wire fraud and money laundering conspiracies.

Andres then served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Florida, where he prosecuted cases involving wire fraud, money laundering, firearms and narcotics violations, national security matters, human smuggling, and child exploitation offenses. During his time at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Andres successfully tried multiple jury trials to verdict, serving in key roles as both first and second chair.

Before joining the Justice Department, Andres earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law, graduating cum laude and serving as a Staff Editor for the InterAmerican Law Review, in which he also published an article. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, where he competed on the mock trial team under the American Mock Trial Association. While at the University of Florida, Andres taught accelerated summer courses on Trial Advocacy and Law to high school students in collaboration with Stanford Law School.

Andres is actively involved in the legal and local community. He serves on the board of directors of the Belen Alumni Lawyers Association, co-chairs the Cuban American Bar Association’s Mentorship Committee, and coaches on the trial team at the University of Miami School of Law.

A Miami native, Andres enjoys going to the gym, playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends.
